Obsolete Lenze drives

Avoid unscheduled downtime

In 2017, Lenze announced that they will gradually phase-out of the 8200, 9300 and SMD Lenze drives. The reason for this decision is the directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS) that restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

The currently installed obsolete Lenze drives are still available in the market although their availability is rapidly decreasing whereas the price is increasing.

Contiweb retrofits safeguard the future of your machines

Obsolete core drives and infeed drives can cause severe unplanned downtime in case of breakdown. In order to avoid unscheduled disruptions and to safeguard the future of your machines, Contiweb has developed retrofits to new drives for your Contiweb equipment.

The extent of the retrofits varies. Some of the obsolete drives can be easily replaced (1:1) by new drives, whereas other drives (core and infeed) require a considerable rebuild.

In case you have more splicers with the same obsolete drives, we propose you upgrade all the drives on one machine and keep the old drives as emergency stock for the remaining splicers. This will limit your investment and provides security.
