Standby and Production Gas Reduction Enhancements
Two relatively simple Gas Reduction Enhancements (GRE) can make large gas savings by optimizing solvent concentration in the burner chambers. The Standby GRE improves control to reduce standby gas consumption. Similarly, the Production GRE reduces gas consumption during production.
The lower energy costs can be achieved with an excellent Return of Investment (we can calculate the savings for you beforehand). Installing GRE can protect you from rising energy prices, as well as reducing your company’s carbon footprint.
The solvent control method we use is responsible for the energy efficiency of our latest Ecoset – already the most efficient hot air dryer in the heat set web offset industry. We are now making similar technology available as an enhancement on current machines, to significantly reduce gas consumption for older Contiweb dryer models and Vits dryers.
Reduced Purge Volume
The standby GRE (for all older dryer) is a relatively small modification of the gas train and burners, to reduce purge dryer standby mode.
The production GRE (for Ecocool and for Vits dryers) is an additional improvement that modifies the chill to prevent the dryer from smoking when reducing the purge. The GRE also safely reduces the exhaust flow and gas usage during blanket wash. During production, the purge volume can be significantly reduced in this way.
